Consumers are like human beings to a certain extent. They get bruised, corrupted, and weak. In human beings, we call it diseases. In computers we can call them viruses, spyware, and anything else.
In order to keep your computer from crashing and slowing down, it would be best to know how to maintain it. Every computer geek should know these things.
