Name of your website?

www.SimpleTechGuy.com

Your name?

Daniel Carlson

Your Location (city, etc)

Marietta, GA

Please give us a short summary of your website?

SimpleTechGuy is a new computer service and repair company serving locally in northwest metro Atlanta including Paulding, Douglas, Cobb, and Cherokee counties and in cities such as Dallas, Marietta, Acworth, Kennesaw, Douglasville, Villa Rica, Smyrna, Austell, and other surround counties! 24 hour emergency service available.

We are an on site technology service company providing design, repair, installation and consultation for most of your hi-tech needs. We perform services such as computer repair, virus removal, small networks, hardware installation, software installation, data backup and recovery, web design and hosting, Home Entertainment System Design and Installation, and car audio/video design and installation. We can also tutor you on how to use your computer.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I had been struggling to find a job due to the hopefully short lived falling away of our economy when a friend called knowing of my computer knowledge and asked if I could fix her neighbors computer. I was broke at the time and asked that they pay only for my gas to get to their house. I spent six hours working on their computer during which time the family cooked and fed me dinner, kept my tea glass full, and talked to me the entire time.

As I got ready to leave they gave me $30 for my time. I was very thankful and realized then, with even that small amount of money, that there was money to be made in the computer industry. I went home and found out that the geek squad would have charged $450 for what I did.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

SimpleTechGuy is my first official website. I had created a few on a local server, but never launched them.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name came to me after about 4 hours of heavy contemplation and many phone calls. I guess you could say it was a work of GOD!

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

My site stands out a bit from other computer repair sites by providing information to free resources. I try to help as many people as I can by allowing them access to free information they could use to repair their computer themselves.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I would like to expand into every state in the US.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

As of this writing, I am currently in debt. The business is only 3 months old and is still in the development stages. I would hope to have 1000% profits within a year.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Wow, just the thought is good enough for me. I would hire people to do all the work and then I would make sure they are working!

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes! I have created the site to withstand growth. I have an abundant supply of "techies" in the area who would be more than willing to help out with the site if there was something in it for them.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Advertising. I have not had as many calls as I would like to have had in the past few months. Advertising is difficult when your budget is small. I have done all the advertising for SimpleTechGuy myself and will continue to focus solely on advertising until I get too much work to handle.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Free advertising sites.

What is your website address?

www.SimpleTechGuy.com
