Gizmodo's John Mahoney assessed the usefullness of three different cash conscious strategies for setting up a Mac and PC friendly NAS which is building a NAS from Old PC; using a router with an external USB drive; and buying the a dedicated machine for it. He described what to do and what you need for NAS and compared it to each other.
