Using more advanced technology has always make the recent one extinct. Like in the past when offices use fax machines to transmit data that is currently being phased out by the Email and the internet. The birth of computers and word processors most likely gave a death warrant to mechanical typewriters.
Everything seems to be digital these days. even sticky note have its digital version where you could even pass it your office mate's desktop.
