A person should surely be modest about their gadgets, no doubt about it, whatsoever. Why would I say so, you say? It is quite simple. Being modest would help you to ensure that you maintain your gadget(s) to the best of your ability, no?
If not, then probably being modest is not quite the thing for you.
I would suggest, probably, if one were to be a little more careless on purpose so that they would drop their gadget, break it, then realize what it is that being modest is all about.
