SSDs and Nvidia Chipset for the New Line of MacBooks

A new family of MacBooks have been launched by Apple at its Cupertino, Calif. headquarters last Tuesday. Nvidia, Santa Clara, Calif.-based graphic chip maker will provide GeForce 9400 motherboard graphics for the new MacBook lineup.

Apple's new MacBooks will also shine the light on solid state drives (SSDs). Some of the line up will come with a 128GB SSD upgrade options from basic hard drive disk drive configurations while a pair of MacBook Airs, 1.86GHz version will come with 128GB SSD in its basic configuration.

A Cheaper MacBook?

Throughout its history, Apple has not introduced a MacBook or a MacBook Pro priced below $1000. But in industry that is fast changing, with major players aggressively cutting prices to tap new markets, how will Apple survive?

This may change as Apple is anticipated to release a new cheaper laptop under the Macbook name. We will just have to wait until Thursday, though.
