Sometimes, you would want you computer to do something like rendering a graphic file, even if you're at work or away from.
The solution is LogMeIn. It's a secured web-based remote control for computers. What's cool about this is could operate you remote desktop like you're sitting in front of it as long as you have an internet connection, and its free.
You would to sign up for an account in their website and install the the remote module on the computer that you wish access remotely and you're good to go.
I would like to suggest www.beanywhere.com. It allows you to transfer files and it's less expensive than logmein.
