StrategyNode SEO & Online Marketing Interview

Name of your website?

StrategyNode SEO & Online Marketing

Your name?

Debanjan Ghosh

Your Location (city, etc)

Provo, UT

Please give us a short summary of your website?

StrategyNode offers a FREE website analysis with no obligation to use our services (but it would be a good idea). We offer Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Marketing (SMM), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Pay Per Click (PPC) Campaigns, Web Analytics, Reputation Management, Web Design, and Photography. We take a creative approach to SEO.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I've been in the SEO industry for about 6 years now and am ready to have my own firm.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched this company's website October 2007, although I've been working with the internet and websites since the 90s.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Because doing SEO work is not formulaic nor can it be done by brute force. It is a process and requires a strategy - hence, StrategyNode.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

I research and stay up to date with the industry. I read Google's patents. I think about how I can use new technologies and tactics for my clients. My business partner also brings in a unique factor, having an art background. We're a great team.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Eventually, I'd like to grow the company and sell it, then start on another idea.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

If hard work is any indication of success, I'm going to be very successful.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I'm working on the finishing touches and I'm going to be pretty happy with - enough so that I don't think I'll need to bring in someone else.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Of course. In a real crunch - outsource.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The time factor. I didn't realize the time it takes to get things how you want them - and they're still not how I want them.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To date, finding a fabulous sales team.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Applying our own SEO techniques for ourselves and trying to get our new website ranked on the major search engines.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Again, time. Making changes, doing graphics, writing content, getting feedback from others, redoing, shifting, changing. It seems there is always some tweak I want to make on the site.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's been up for 6 months, but not perfect for 6 months. It's still not there. As far as how long I'll keep it? I don't know. Until I can see that it's just not going to work - but I don't foresee that happening.

How can I learn more about your services?

Visit my website.
