Free wi-fi are often offered by establishments to boost their number of customers as a plan of their value-added services.
Wardriving is an act of searching for wi-fi network connection while on a car which is usually done of free wi-fi zones, and could also be done on private areas that doesn't have any line of securedness on their network connections
The term "wardriving" was derived from the word wardialing which was popularized by 1983 movie - WarGames.
