Bluetooth, will have a new competitor when it comes to peer-to-peer connectivity.
Wi-Fi Alliance announced the release Wi-Fi Direct or Wi-Fi Connect, their new peer-to-peer protocol that would allow implementers to connect to each other to send and receive data even without the need of a base station.
The new protocol have transfer rate up to 54 Mbps, faster than bluetooth but consumes more power.
